December 16, 2014

I love spending time with these rad people.  I love living with them even more, I truly do.

And in their defense, this both-of-them-on-their-phones thing only lasted about one minute... I just have impeccable timing for the art of photography.

Das German Christmas Market, ja

First time at the Christmas Market and I have got to say, it was.... delicious.

December 14, 2014

RIP, dear beard.

Now that was one deadly beard; old and young people alike complimented that thing for months... ID's were never asked for when ordering alcoholic beverages... ponytails were fashioned at the bottom... nicknames along the lines of Chewbacca and Sasquatch were awarded.  We can now see this guy's face again, but my mini christmas present (mustache wax) and his girlfriend sincerely hope he grows another.

Dressing up fancy for the Nutcracker!

It was indeed all it was... cracked up to be.
Heh heh heh.

Decisions, decisions...

Two movies on complete opposite ends of the spectrum, yet equally awesome

December 11, 2014

I personally think this looks comfortable, but I feel like most other people would disagree.

December 10, 2014

Mr. Piglet digesting after: one giant bowl of pho, one iced coffee, one glass of water, and one cup of tea.  I don't think any more liquid could have possibly fit.

It's extremely difficult not to be absolutely positively stuffed after a bowl of it (unless you're me, of course).

PS: how awesome is Hunger Games?  I sooo enjoy that series.  And on another note, am so excited for the Hobbit!

December 9, 2014

Well this should be interesting...

Let the games begin.

December 8, 2014

Just another manic, rainy, cloudy, windy winter's Monday.

Waiting in line for Thompson tickets, and a little apple with my last name on the tree catches my eye.  I always forget how big our fam-jam really is.  Represent!

December 7, 2014

A cozy Sunday night with pizza, a new apartment, and one of my most favorite human beings in the world.

December 6, 2014

An entire Saturday spent with... a shit ton of family.  And an even special-er (that's not a word) day at that; not only welcoming a new little baby, but also spending it with a portion of our beautiful Seattle family.  We so rarely get to see them, and when we do, it's usually because we go there, so to have all of us in one house at one time was really lovely.

It was obviously 9pm when I took this oops-I-forgot-to-take-a-photo-today photo, so that's why it quite frankly doesn't make any sense at all.  To be fair though, you can see Richard's hand in the right corner there so... hah.

December 5, 2014

Christmas traditions...

One of my favorite traditions, as I rarely get to have any outings with this hermit.  He really seemed to love this tree (he's just the cutest), but I veto-ed it and opted for a much fatter one.  Hehe.

After 20 minutes trying to decide on one, I think he was ready to leave (my plan worked!) so we settled on this one and I think it turned out splendidly.  High five for great big Douglas'.

December 4, 2014

I always fancy a dinner and catch up with this lovely girl.  Our hang out's have just gotten 10x more interesting, too, as she now has a job as a Corrections Officer at a women's prison.

Only one missing is our blondey world-traveler who is currently in.... India?  I can't remember the last time she was home for longer than a month.  There is no one to eat my broccoli when she's missing.  When she gets back, I'll be the only boring one without any interesting stories... at least I will be able to finish my pho faster.

Silver linings.

December 3, 2014

Coming along quite nicely.  I forgot how fun puzzles were.  You know what else I really want?  An adult coloring book.  Do those things exist?

(This better look exactly the same when I see it next, Mr. Nikola)

December 2, 2014

Been waiting for the previous lender to return this book for two months!

Finally.

I always find it tricky to really get into a new book for some reason; I'm hoping this one will be an exception.

December 1, 2014

December?!

How is it already December?  The cliche is right... time truly does fly.  It feels like just yesterday that I began writing in this thing.  Although I strongly dislike snow (not the actual snow so much as driving in the snow), I very much welcome one of the best months of the year.

And what better way to ring in December than this glorious smelling tradition?

November 30, 2014

This guy is supposed to be a Canadian legend; with good reason, really.  He's pretty awesome, and he certainly puts on a really lovely Christmas show.

This is an event my beau has been excited for since, I think... last Christmas, after his show?  I was so happy I was able to join him this year to share it with him.  As cheesy as it sounds, it was a heart-warming evening spent with Stuart McLean at Queen Elizabeth theatre... and that after a wonderful weekend away... life doesn't get much better than this.

November 28 and 29, 2014

An absolutely, wonderful, lovely, perfect weekend getaway...

November 26, 2014

Building shelving units all day in a freezing storage locker, it is necessary to wear the very expensive recently purchased parka.

This parka in particular is very magnetic.

Look ma' - no hands!

November 25, 2014

Even on a foggy, rainy day... there's still an incredible view.

I think that's really what they call "the dream".
