She seemed to think her darling dog was clawing at her hands to get at her face... what a Negative Nancy.  I love this photo.

An unexpected Sunday tea date with my mamabear and sissy uno.

How cute is mamabear for putting all of that together?  The cutest.

There are few occasions in which I am more grateful for the life I have made for myself than when I'm gathered with wonderful people.

Ahhhhhhh, Friday:  Palm Springs.

Okay, well I now realize in retrospect that uploading "throwbacks" of vacation spots whilst sitting at my desk is actually ridiculously painful, this one isn't so bad because I am going back to this very spot to pretend like I'm filthy rich enough to stay at a Marriott villa for a week and spa the shit out of life in just over a month.

Song of the day: Radio - Lana Del Rey
(Actually, in the spirit of Palm Springs, my whole Lana playlist is today's "song(s) of the day".)

Throwback Thursday (ugh, ew): Vegas

I have been dying to go back here lately for some reason.  It won't happen this year, but... next year, it's happening.  Mark my words (universe, help me out here).

April 23, 2014

Okay... shit.  I'm the worst!!!!!  I, again, did not take any photos from Wednesday to Friday this week... so in the spirit of my shitty generation, I'm going to #throwback it for the next three days.

Wednesday throwback:  Hawaii.

Seriously... just look at this place.  I have been to some wonderful places, but I can say truthfully, this has got to be one of my favorite places in the entire world.  I can't wait to go back here.

This is what it's like living with a boy.

PS... I did the dishes today.  But the fact that there was a to-do list just melted my little heart.

April 21, 2014

Some holiday traditions just shouldn't die.  My wonderful mamabear made our traditional Easter breakfast for her daughter and one of her adopted daughters this morning and it was delicious.  She also surprised me with my very first tea set!  This set is absolutely beautiful and I swear, tea just tastes better from this set.  I returned back to the house later on in the afternoon with brand new loose tea leaves so we could test it all out.  I can imagine this cost an arm and a leg and I'm just so grateful I have parents who have no qualms about buying something for me just because they know I'll love it so much.

Later on in the day, on to tattoo number six.  Feeding my addiction one tattoo at a time.  I was actually surprised how little this particular placement hurt.  Maybe it was the adrenaline or maybe my pain tolerance is getting higher... I personally hope it's the latter, as I feel that will benefit me greatly later on in life.  There is a rush and a subsequent happiness that accompanies this whole process and I don't regret a single one.

All in all, it was such a wonderful extra-long weekend (this four day weekend thing should really be something that happens once a month) and it has slowly started to rejuvenate my tired, pity-partying mind.  Spring has evidently sprung.

April 20, 2014

Easter isn't quite the same as it was when I was a kid.  As with everything, things change with time but I've come to see that that's okay.  I still got to spend Easter Sunday with a portion of my very large family and it was a lovely holiday.

I also got a taste of motherhood by creating my first Easter egg hunt for "my kiddies" at the apartment.  Needless to say, Natasha won.  Duh.

April 19, 2014

It's Saturday.  Nat and I make a ridiculously delicious breakfast, hang around the house lazing around for a while, start watching Her... then begin to get a little (a LOT) stir crazy and decide we absolutely must do something... anything

The two most indecisive people on the planet cannot think of anything we want to do.  I decide I want to go get the tattoo I've been planning early.  Naturally though, the tattoo artist I go to is all booked up.  However, there is one available for Nat to get the little one she's been planning.  So off we go. Head to Danielle's to hang out a bit, eat some perogies so Natasha doesn't go all 12th grade Biology blood lab and pass the fuck out on me and head on over.  There's something about tattoos.  Call me an addict, I just love them.

Ending the day with a girls night at my apartment with two of my bests was a great way to finish the day as well.  How lucky am I.

I knew I was saving up those Sephora points for a reason.  I lucked out for sure with this one.  Yay, summer is coming!

April 16, 2014

I know that I just had a week's worth of quotes, but I just stumbled upon this one today and I adored it, more than my picture of this rainy Wednesday.

Ahhhh, Audible... how I've missed you.

I love books and I love reading... but unfortunately sometimes, I've found it difficult to focus long enough to get any substantial reading done in one sitting unless I'm on vacation and so I've not read much of anything as of late, even though I've missed it.  I could listen for hours and hours to an audiobook though, and my wishlist of books is getting way too long

...I have a feeling I'm going to be awfully broke soon.

April 7, 2014

I looked back on this week and realized I took no photos... whoopsie daisy!  So I have dubbed this week quote week.

Sorry I'm not sorry though, the perfect words strung together always have a way of inducing good feelings, epiphanies or just a reminder of important things we all forget when we get too caught up in headstrong emotions.  Even when they don't ring true in the moment, it's always nice to come across a quote in which the words are so beautiful, they have the ability to warm your soul, even if just for a moment.  This may not happen for everyone, but for me personally, I have always had a soft spot for the simplicity and simultaneous depth of language and vocabulary, so I will take this week to enjoy it.

April 6, 2014

A lovely Sunday filled with wonderful visitors, an evening carrying on a new tradition called Sunday PHO-n day and ending with re-starting one of my favorite series.

A Saturday night in done right: video game tourney and a Suits drinking game with my roommates.

April 4, 2014

A Friday night spent with my two favorite couples
(Not photographed, but that's partially because I was drunk)

I should also mention the hours & hours it took Nat and I prior to our Friday night hangout to break down and organize the heaps of cardboard we accumulated.  To be fair, Nat was the champ here - I only helped for about half an hour before I made us dinner, but... we had to eat.

I have a new hatred for cardboard.

April 2, 2014

I must admit... life without a job can be boring as fuck.

I didn't do much of anything on my last day off and I found myself almost wishing I was at work.  All my friends were at work, I was not feeling well, and that was coupled with being a level 25 lazy.  It was unproductive and boring.  Which is great sometimes, duh, but it was not the best use of my holiday day, if I'm being honest.

...but then, around 8:00pm, I downloaded the last episode of Sherlock, finished off a bottle of wine and one of my roommates came home and life was grand again.  And another silver lining is that today, I am grateful to have a job I enjoy to occupy my time.

Song of the day: Ready to Start - Arcade Fire

April 1, 2014

I am quickly becoming acquainted with the joys of adulthood.

Our couch half-broke so I had to buy a functioning one for the apartment, spending a lot of money I don't have on it.  However, seeing as there are three of us living here and that I hate doing squats just to slowly make my way onto the couch, it seemed like a reasonable purchase.

Silver lining: that "dysfunctional" couch made an absolutely perfect home on our covered patio.  It may not have suited our needs for the living room, but it definitely has made a sweet home outside.

Song of the day: Gold (ft. Yuna) - Adventure Club

March 31, 2014

Too busy/too lazy/too preoccupied to take a photo today.  Besides... it would have just been another photo in the new apartment (which will be the case for the next month, probably) so... not missing much.  This quote is profoundly true in any case and it's fitting for the day so it works.

Today, it's a blessing.

Song of the day:  Ride - Lana Del Rey
